Wing Gundam Zero Custom wallpaper - DC23

Ello guys, The photo on top shows a very quick photoshop doodle of my most recent build, the battle damaged MG Wing Gundam Wing Zero Custom. Actually this is not really a wallpaper coz the composition is vertical and not horizontal, thus this is more of an art card than a wallpaper.

I got the idea of the title " Fallen Zero " from a fellow modeler in ZeroGunz, John David C. and I basically wanted a rising from the dead look in which Wing Custom has his arms tucked on his sides and is rising from the ground. I composited a nice background I got from the internet, added lightning and some clouds and made it look like it is raining.

Thanks for dropping by! til next post! ;D

Wing Gundam Zero Custom - battle damaged

I just  finished painting / weathering my old MG Wing Gundam Zero Custom today and I am pretty happy with the outcome. I gave this kit some battle damage effects  days ago with Hasegawa U type and flat type chisels and also with an ordinary art knife.

I then gave it the sponge paint chipping effects that I also did with the AC White Glint build, however unlike the brown and flat earth enamel washes of the White Glint, I gave this one an ordinary black mixed with flat earth enamel wash. Thus it does not have the rusted old and battered look that I achieved with the AC kit. I will never weather with neutral colors ( black and gray ) next time and will stick to my rust colored weathering. hihi

Armored Core WHITE GLINT wallpaper - DC23

Ello guys, I just finished a quick wallpaper for the AC White Glint that I just finished a couple of days ago. I basically composited a couple of my photos with a nice background, added a ninebreaker ship? and did some burn and smudge effects to blend everything in.

Thanks for viewing! til next post! ;D

Armored Core WHITE GLINT with V.O.B. ver DC23

Ello guys, I just finished putting the final topcoat of my very first international commission work, which is the AC White Glint build and finally it is done! I actually worked on this for 2 1/2 months ( on and off ) and I got the kit around February 28. The kit as I've said before looks really really impressive and is my most impressive looking build so far.

There are a lot of seam lines to work on and there are a gazillion small parts to paint but it was truly a great experience to have worked with a non - Gundam kit. As per the client's intructions which is to glue the loose parts ( make it feel more solid ) and weather the kit, I think I did a fairly good job.

The O versus Zeta Gundam

Just woke up and will be going to work in a while...just want to share this 6 minute video clip of the final battle ( I think ) between The O and the Zeta Gundam. I am looking forward to getting my hands on the upcoming MG The O and looking and watching clips of it fuels the desire.hihi

This clip is part of the 50th episode of Zeta Gundam and beware coz the video clip shows the ending of the fight and you would not want to see this if you plan to watch the series soon. Thanks for dropping by! til' next post! ;)

AC White Glint - almost, almost done!!!

Ello guys, I could have finished this build today if NOT for running out of Zippo lighter fluid! Dang!!! I hate it whenever I run out of supplies in the middle of work! hate it!

I have masked and painted the black parts of the Vanguard Overed Boost ( V.O.B. ) cylinders earlier today and have also given the White Glint ( WG ) some enamel washes...though I ran out of lighter fluid! I have re assembled a few segments of the V.O.B. and have mostly assemble the White Glint except the legs.

Dragon Ball kiddie pool - No gunpla yesterday...it's my wife's birthday today!!!

Ello guys, It's my wife's birthday today and we celebrated it yesterday by going to a theme resort...I call it theme coz of all the marvel, lotr, disney characters and dragonball characters all over the resort. The resort is called Amana and it is located in Pandi Bulacan, an hour drive from our place.

As I've said, characters that are bigger than life size for some are scattered throughout the resort and it was fun taking photos of them. There is even a 25 foot tall King Kong on top of the wave pool and you can climb King Kong's left hand and take photos. There is also life size figures of Shrek, his house and his family.

hg 1/144 GN-X WIP part III - color scheme study

I am currently in the office right now and I just finished doing a custom color scheme study of my 1/144 GN-X build. I did this in Adobe Photoshop CS4 and I did 4 custom color schemes. I fancy option A the most coz it was inspired by Sammy's RGM79C build.

As I've said I have 4 color schemes I am choosing from, option A is an orange and blue gray scheme, option B has a scheme that is much similar to my PG Zeta build, option C is the usual striking combination of red and white and option D is your usual yellow and white scheme. Now here are the edited photos with custom color schemes...

DISQUS! my new commenting platform! XD

I have read an article earlier today about how to improve the look and feel of your blog to make it more professional. First, remove the navbar on top - done, second is to customize your template - done, third is to apply a better commenting platform - just finished! and lastly buy a custom domain name - maybe in the future.

I have no qualms about the default commenting system of blogger, but pro bloggers always say it sucks...so I finally hunted for a better commenting platform and simply googled " commenting platform for blogger " and I immediately found the first link on the result very informative...here is the link - 3 alternatives to Blogger's default system

The new DISQUS platform as mentioned in the link have great features like indented reply system, you can now put links and videos from you tube in the comments and so much more. I think the best feature is that you can even comment with your facebook account ( if your logged in in FB )!

I have also removed the word verification and I have also put the TOP and recent commenters widget on the sidebar. All new features in commenting in my site would hopefully encourage people to join in the discussion. See you guys soon! what do you think? ;D

Mez-itz HELLBOY comic book variant

Ello guys, just a quick post on what I grabbed today during lunch office break...I got this cool little Hellboy figure by Mezco in there Mez-itz series of designer vinyl action figures. Mezco is pretty much known for there huge 18 inch Hellboy action figures and some cute 3 inch and 6 inch Southpark figures.

This particular figure is a comic book variant which is 6 inches tall ( there is a movie variant ). The figure is based on the artwork of Mike Mignola and is a limited edition Hellboy Mez-itz that captures the look of the comic book Hellboy including the high contrast shading of its art. The fig has seven points of articulation in the head ( ball joint ), arms, right forearm, legs and tail. Anyways here are some pics of the fig...

bigger and wider layout at last!

At long last I have figured how to widen the layout of the new blogger designer templates! The HTML code of the new designer templates are a lot different than the old ones and it took me some time to figure out how to tweak the codes... I am not really sure if it is even called html, I think the new codes are called XML or something.

The problem with this wide layout is that I am not confident on how it would look like on an old 15 inch PC monitor? I work with a wide screen 15 inch Macbook pro at home and it fits the screen perfectly and I see my blog ( wink wink ) in the office in a 24 inch monitor...so I hope the new wider layout works with small PC monitors as well.

Anyways, I am really happy with my new layout now...what do you think guys?

hg 1/144 GN-X WIP part II - detailing mods done?

I finished this yesterday but I was not able to take snapshots of it coz my battery ran out of juice. I have started on this build even though I have not yet finish the WG, though an enamel wash and a final topcoat would complete and finish that build.

Anyways, this is just a relax build thus I am lazy to cut small pla plates for detailing and just used some MSG option parts instead and scribed a few more panel lines. As usual I am itchy to further add detail to this but hopefully I would decide to just paint this as it is by weekend. Now here are some photos of the kit so far...

SD Guncannon generation F snapfit

I just finished snapfitting this kit ( in 30 minutes ) today and this is basically my warm up build before painting / weathering the AC White Glint. This is my 2nd SD Guncannon and the first one is the much older and smaller Generation 0 version, this one is the Generation F ver.

My wife saw me when I was taking the photos of both versions and she told me... " What the! you are starting to collect variations again!!! " hihi... Honestly I sort of made the mistake of buying the old SD Guncannon, but I kinda like the little guy.

I was already married when I collected the LOTR figures a while back and I have 14 Frodos, 8 Legolas, 10 Aragorns and 6 Smeagols to say the least. hehehe...This days, having three kids already, my wife kinda reminds me of NOT collecting variations again coz she thinks it is a waste of money....I do have 5 Optimus primes and 4 Bumble Bees that I got last year though, imagine her face if ever I grab another Prime. hihi

Anyways here are some photos of the newer SD Generation F Guncannon and a couple of the old Generation 0 GC...

Char Aznable BUST

This is roughly around 5 inches tall including the stand and the bust itself is around 3 inches. The figure is relatively big and I got it dirt cheap ( 100 Php ). There are two variations of this figure, the other one has a slightly different hand pose and has sunglasses on. I chose to get this instead coz I like the quality of the paint job on the eyes and the hand pose of this one is a bit better.

This is my fourth Char figure ( have not taken pics of the other 2 ) and I am kinda a Char fan...I would always grab a Char figure if there is any ( as long as it is cheap ). This is my fav amongst all of them, though the other two Char figs are prizes from Bakuc...this one is simply bigger and better. Now here are some pics I took today of the cool looking Char bust fig...

more MSG koto parts from Hobbies Corner!

I just arrived from a 12 hour outdoor video shoot today and I am overly tired. I went to the office at 4 am and went back to the office at around 6 30 pm from the shoot ...Anyways, I was rewarded with a package I ordered from Hobbies Corner last week.

I have some 26 pieces of MSG koto parts, a couple of Samuel decal sheets, a couple of aurora sticker lenses, a couple of aurora stickers and a pack ( 2 pieces ) of battery holders ( free from HC ). I still have 15 pieces of MSG koto parts I ordered a while back... I just like the idea of having that much supplies at hand. hihi.

Again, thanks to Oldman ( ZeroGunz VIP member and owner of Hobbies Corner ) for the fast delivery as always, the nice shipping cost and the quality of the stuffs when it arrived. Anyways here are some lousy pics of my new supplies...

CiBoy Gundam Destiny!

This will be my last CiBoy post for the day...This is basically my most prized ( not necessarily my fav ) CiBoy as of now coz it is a Gundam Destiny in CiBoy form! I really like the designs of these figs and how they incorporated various characters into CiBoy...they even have a Halo and Street Fighter version!

These figs are more adorable than SDs, I mean they are not really poseable ( except the head and arms ) but they are solid and heavy...no worries of a breakage if they fall or something unlike SDs. These figs are so cute I replaced ALL my avatars in forums and even in my DC23 mech arts facebook page with a photo of a CiBoy ZZ. Now here are more pics of the CiBoy Gundam Destiny!

CiBoy Blaze ZAKU Phantom

Red Magic's CiBoys

I am starting a new collection today...I got these figs at a mall at a clearance sale price of 50 Php or almost 1 USD only. I then researched about it and learned that these are vinyl toys by Red Magic. These figures are heavy for there size and are about a little more than two inches tall.

I will be hunting for these figures from now on coz there are lots of crazier and cuter designs of these figs out there...I even saw a set of 9 figures in ZZ Gundam costumes! Yes, ZZ Gundam, a Dom, a Quebley and some Zakus! I have put a large icon on my sidebar of a CiBoys ZZ Gundam and will link it to any CiBoys post that I'll put up. Anyways here are some pics of my first ever CiBoys Figs...

hg 1/144 GN-X WIP part I

I cemented the seam lines along the head, crotch, chest, lower leg, forearms and the frames yesterday and sanded them with a 600 grit sandpaper. Yes, 600 grit is pretty rough but it removes the stubborn sprue marks fast and I will be re sanding the parts with a finer grit later anyways.

I plan this build to be a relax OOTB build...however I started to add a few panel lines on the upper leg armors and I am currently restraining myself NOT to mod it further. BUT then again...I always end up adding a few simple pla plating here and there. Now here are a couple of photos of the added panel lines on the upper leg armors...

AC White Glint - WIP part XVI - last update

Ello guys, this will be my last WIP update of the AC White Glint commission build. I will definitely be shipping this to the US by the end of May ( or even next week ). I have given the parts 4 layers of gloss coat using future straight from the bottle yesterday and have let have it cure overnight to prepare the surface for the enamel washes.

I then mask the parts on the Vanguard Overed Boost ( V.O.B. ) parts that needs to be black with Tamiya tape and I have also painted the black parts of the V.O.B. I will ten have to drybrush the black parts with silver after painting.

This build is almost done, I will have to spray black on the mask V.O.B. parts later, give all the parts an enamel wash of Tamiya flat earth and spray the final flat topcoat. I am still thinking of modding the base that came with the kit and also weather it. Anyways here are a few pics...

HG 1/144 GN-X snapfit - DC23

I ordered a couple of Samuel decal sheets from Hobbies Corner a few days ago and one of those sheets is a Samuel decal ver 2 sheet fo Advance Hazel. So I went hunting for the Advance Hazel yesterday coz I plan to do it ootb with Samuel decals as a relax build after the AC White Glint.

Obviously, there was no stock of an Advance Hazel, thus I grabbed a 1/144 GN-X and a SD Guncannon instead. So basically I am holding off the PG MKII commish for a while and I have 0 inspiration to work on the 1/100 Seravee and will work on this kit instead. I am actually going to remove the seam lines  of this kit before continuing to add the sponge paint chipping effects on the other parts of the White Glint...

AC White Glint - WIP part XV - Paint chipping FX

I am currently adding paint chipping effects to the AC White Glint and Vanguard Overed Boost ( V.O.B. ) parts. I am using the usual sponge technique for the small paint chippings ( using a Citadel paint ) and a fine tipped gray Gundam marker for the bigger scratches and paint chippings.

The focus here is to overdo the damages on the WG, specially on the torso, manipulators, feet and legs and make lesser paint chippings on the other parts specially the V.O.B. parts. I think with some proper lighting once the kit is finished, The results of the weathering will be much more evident.

As you can see I have not given the kit an enamel wash yet...after the paint chipping effects I will seal it with future and give it an enamel wash of flat earth. The flat earth will give it a warmer tone and a more realistic feel to the weathering. Anyways here are some pics of my progress so far...

AC White Glint - WIP part XIV - White parts painted!

Ello guys, I just finished painting ALL of the white parts of both the White Glint and the Vanguard Overed Boost ( V.O.B. ). It took me roughly around 4 hours to finish, 2 bottles of Tamiya flat white and a cup of future. I also managed to paint the V.O.B. boosters and started to paint the guns.

I got tired already, so the guns will be repainted some other time. Hopefully you can see in my lousy pictures that I did some subtle shading with the whites. I first painted the crevices and a few corners with flat black then sprayed flat white all over. The Tamiya acrylic paint retarder worked like a charm as usual and the paint went really smooth.

Hunting for PMX-003 The O

Ello guys, I've been hunting for this hguc kit for a week now...but I could not find the dang thing. The name of this kit is the the O, it's kinda funny to see the reactions of the sales guy in toy shops whenever I ask them if they have the " O ". hihi...

I really would love to get my hands on this kit and give it a steampunk rendition that I gave my green MG Dom. I plan to work on this after my AC White Glint build and that will be soon. If ever I don't find this kit after next week...I will need to settle with working with my 1/144 Tieren Ground Type.

My PG MKII commish will be on hold for a while, coz I feel the need and want to do a simple semi relax 1/144 build before working with the PG again to add to my personal collection. BTW, The O or PMX-003 The O is a huge and powerful mobile suit from the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam series and was piloted by Paptimus Scirocco. Spoiler Beware...

New look! custom background image

Ello guys, I need to paint the AC White Glint ( white parts ) already...I just can't paint on weekdays, I will try to paint tomorrow if I get home early from work. Anyways, I tweaked my blog today, first time for me to add a custom background for my blog.

It is a bit of html work but I think the nose bleed is worth it. The template I am using is a new blogger template designer template, so customizing it is a breeze. There are lots of nice default  photos that you can choose in the template designer, though I find some, too eye catching. So I finally made a custom one for my blog.

The photo on top is the image I used as background...I edited it in Adobe photoshop and blogger automatically arranged it in panels. What do you think?

Thanks for dropping by! til' next post! ;D

1/144 TIEREN Ground Type - snapfit

Ello guys, I just finished snap fitting this 1/144 Tieren ground type. I had nothing to do after priming the AC White glint so decided to snap fit this...I got this yesterday during Mother's day, after treating my wife and kids to lunch.

The kit has 4 runners including the polycaps and was a fast 1 hour and 1/2 build. The articulation is pretty good and the kit looks good overall as well. I like very much the shoulder articulation and the waist that swivels upwards. I bought this coz I plan to give it the same mods and look of my Brutishdog...I will do this kit after the AC. Anyways, here are some pics...

AC White Glint - WIP part XIII - White parts primed!

Ello guys, the AC White Glint client ( from the US ) has fully paid this build yesterday through paypal...wahoo! Though it's kinda embarrassing to get the full payment coz I just finished priming ALL the White parts of the AC and also a few pieces like the guns and a couple of parts over the shoulders.

Anyways, I made a slight booboo while priming the parts... a few parts ( shoulder armors ) where hit with some overspray producing a slight sandy texture. I then sanded it a bit and resprayed but a few small portions of the said parts has some slight texturing still. However after looking at it for a whil, I kinda liked it...I think it will give a nice look once I have weathered this kit.

I now plan to add a few textured areas to the other parts during painting as I weather this build. 95% of the parts primed today are so smooth though, I will have to roughen it a bit during painting as again this would have a weathered look overall after. Now, here are some pics...

Battle damaging my old MG Gundam Wing Custom

Happy Mother's day to all! Anyways, I just got home with my family and treated the kids and my wife to lunch earlier. I also bought some supplies, primer and strypor for my AC White Glint build which will hopefully be ready for priming by tomorrow. I also got myself a 144 Tieren coz I have a simple dio idea for it.

Anyways, after sanding all the parts of the AC + Vanguard Overed Boost parts yesterday...which is really boring to say the least. I decided to practice a bit on my paint chipping skills. I will give this kit more battle damage effects after I have painted the AC and super weather it so that it looks like it came out of it's grave. hihi. XD

I used a couple of Hasegawa tools for the damage effects...mainly a Hase point scriber for the scratches and  a Hase U - shaped chisel. Basically, I first gave the kit some wet sanding with a 800 grit sandpaper to expose the primer underneath the paint and give it some realistic " scratched effects ". I then used the two Hase tools for a more damaged look.

This kit was my 3rd painted MG back in 2008, so it was done OOTB and painted with Pylox spray cans. I removed the seam lines of course and used a few water slide warning decals and some dry transfer decals that came with the kit. Anyways, here are some pics...

AC White Glint WIP - wet sanding

Just a quick post... I just finished sanding ALL of the parts of the AC White Glint + Vanguard Overed Boost parts today and I am just taking a break. I did some wet sanding with a 800 grit sandpaper and finished off the wet sanding with a 1200 grit sandpaper. I have a cup of water full with small sheets of sandpaper and sanded away the overlooked sprue marks and softened the edges of the pla plating. Looks good so far specially the leg pla plates.

Now, I will have to put all those parts individually on skewers and prime them...hopefully I still have the energy later to do that and prime it soon. I will show lots of pics after priming but will not re assemble the parts. Here are a couple of snapshots of my wrinkled fingers and ALL of the sanded parts...phew! ;)

WALX Mobile Suit Gundam Zaku clip

Ello guys, I just got home from work, been in the office since 7 am and its almost 11 pm now. Anyways,  I just want to share a cool looking WALX Zaku clip / keychain by Bandai Asia that I got yesterday in a toy shop while I was hunting for a hguc Bawoo and a hguc the O. I never found those kits so I just grabbed something that is Gundam. My little girl Sammy got herself a nice puppy stuff toy and some Play doughs and my girl Nico got herself some crayola stuffs. My little 2 year old boy Basti was with her mom in the grocery...so I was not able to get him a toy. Anyways, here are some pics of this cute Zaku clip...

Gundam Stand Art ZAKU II

I got this 3 inch figure of a MS-06J ZAKU II. It says in the box that is was designed by Fusion Works, modeled by Volks Inc and manufactured by Bandai Asia. Bandai calls this series Gundam Stand Art and are around 3 inches to 3 1/2 inches tall...yes they are as tall as a normal SD model kit. This Zaku figure is no. 2 of the series...no. 1 is the Gundam Wing custom, no.3 is the MKII in A.E.U.G. colors and no.4 is the MKII in Titans colors.

I like this figures a lot though I only have a couple so far...a Hi Nu and this one....the proportions and detailing of these figures are a bit different than their MG renditions and are more menacing in terms of overall look than there big MG counterparts.

I got this fig for exactly 499 Php or rough 12 USD, not cheap but it is well worth it actually... it looks great beside my mouse while I blog. A pretty solid fig once you have glued the parts in place. it is made of a rubbery material with a few plastic parts and the hand painted details are ok. Anyways, here are some pics of this cool fig...

AC White Glint - WIP part XII - prepping for priming

Ello guys, I had some personal commitments last weekend thus I was not able to paint this kit. However I did managed to squeeze in a few hours on it and disassemble the kit for priming. I decided not to prime the parts as planned though coz after separating all the white parts and the other parts, I realized that I have to deepen some existing rivet holes on a few parts and I also decided to add more rivet holes to the other parts as well. I basically took a break from drilling holes and posted this first...I will drill holes and clean up some other small overlooked parts before priming and painting the parts this weekend. Now here are some pics of my progress today...

A photo showing how a part looks like when you deepen the holes with a .3mm drill bit...it looks better of course, plus it will be much easier to paint the holes later and is more visible.
