1/144 Tieren Ground Type verDC23 reboot

1/144 Tieren Ground Type verDC23 rebootphoto

Another client wanted to buy my old MG The O verDC23 kit, but I had to decline. I just cannot put a price on that build as it was a really difficult build for me. I lack the scratch building skills other modelers have, so any project that requires such is memorable for me. Anyways, the client just wanted to own any of my builds, so he asked if I could sell this old Tieren.

See OLD Gallery HERE. This build was done way back 2011. So I thought of improving it a little bit as I think I have better paints these days. I also repainted a few parts ( grey ) as everything was yellow. I also gave the kit a quick custom base for it to look better in my client's display cabinet.

Anyways, below are more photos of my 1/144 Tieren Ground Type verDC23 reboot...

Bandai HGUC Neo Zeong POLL Results!

image below via S.Bomb

My small POLL Who is Getting the HGUC 1/144 NZ-999 Neo Zeong? just closed.

I got 44 votes in total,
  • Hell Yes ( will get this kit ) - 18 votes ( 40% )
  • Hell No ( will NOT get this kit ) - 12 votes ( 27% )
  • Maybe - 14 votes ( 31% )
The results pretty much speaks for itself. I myself will definitely get the kit! Not as early as other Gunpla friends as I will find it hard to find the budget to do so. But if I need to loan money from a bank, I will do so! I want this kit so badly, I will definitely get it within the year!

Anyways, thanks a ton for your votes, do check out future POLLs here in my blog guys! Thanks for dropping by! Until my next poll! :)

HGUC The O verDC23 primed!

hguc The OverDC23 WIPphoto

This kit was supposed to be a personal 3 day challenge. However due to my unexpected surgery on the 2nd day, I had to put it aside. I worked on the kit 4 days after my surgery, thus I have been working on this kit for 7 days 6 hours a day.

This is my first project which involves a bit of detailing. I have not done such for 2 years. Some scribing and pla plating is a bit rough, maybe another kit will polish my skills again.

Not much concept behind the build, it's basically a HGUC The O kit converted to a 1/35 mech armor with a Xamel-like canon on top.

I will be hand painting this soon. Will have to put it aside as I have to start on a couple of commission projects by next week.

Hope you like the primed kit so far. Thanks for dropping by! Until my next update guys! Just enjoy the hobby! :)

Diorama Commission Work from Australia

Diorama Commission Workphoto

I just received the 50% down payment from my client from Australia today.

I have been chatting through PM ( in Facebook ) with my client from Australia last weekend for like 4 hours a day ( Saturday and Sunday ) as we were discussing his ideal commission work.

The client originally wanted me to build a 1/100 Deepstriker. I immediately told him that it will cost him so much as the shipping cost and of course my talent fee will not be cheap as the project is very complex. He then thought of doing it in 1/144 scale.

He wanted a 1/144 Deepstriker, with RG internals, scratch built armors and tons of LEDs. I frankly told him that I am not good with scratch building, not comfortable with LEDs and that I have fat heavy fingers and is not comfortable modifying  1/144 scale. I told the client that he wanted a kit that is NOT my style and if he likes, I could refer him to other PRO modelers.

I told the client, my skills are not enough to pull off such a difficult project. I also asked him if he is aware of my modeling style and my comfort zones as a modeler and that I am most comfortable in weathered builds and dioramas.

He then told me not to refer him to other modelers as he wants me to make him a commission work ( although he was uncertain what at that time) as he has been following my works for back when I was still active in the hobby.

As you can imagine it was a long pretty fun ( a bit confusing ) chat during the weekend. But then Voila! My client then showed me a sketch and decided to make me build him a diorama!

This is my first time to do a diorama commission work! I have done a few commissioned works with bases but this one is JUST the diorama. He wanted me to build a diorama that could fit 3 1/144 Bandai kits. This should be fun as I love doing dioramas!

Off to shop for more VALLEJO paints soon! Woot!

Builders Parts System Base 001 Review

Builders Parts System Base 001 Reviewphoto

I got this Builders Parts System Base 001 from one of my sponsors for free as usual. Got this from GreatToysOnline a few weeks back and just decided to snap fit it and give it a look.

I never bought the Kotobukiya Hangars ever as I find it expensive, but I got curious when I saw Bandai release their own version. Apparently Bandai is now producing some Builders Parts and I must say that this is really cool stuff! So let me list some of the cool features of this hangar...
  • Very detailed Hangar ( for a collector POV ) that looks so good on your display cabinet.
  • The hangar base can be both narrow or wide depending on the 1/144 kit that you plan to put on the base. The width can easily be adjusted to wide or narrow.
  • The main feature would be the pegs and rotating main part of the base. This feature will allow you to adjust the angle of the kit on the hangar. Straight up to almost lying down (about 45 degrees).
  • The base comes with a couple of pegs that would allow you to connect with other System Base 001.
  • The base comes with extra parts to hold accessories like bazookas or rifles to the base itself.
This is super cool stuff that I highly recommend to collectors and builders out there!

However for serious modelers, this base is a lot of work. As you can see in the photos, there are so many hollow parts to fill up and the details are not enough for a convincing realistic hangar look. The System Base 001 would be a good foundation for a hangar base but their is so much work to make it look really good ( from a serious modeler's point of view ).

Then again, if you are looking for a quick way to upgrade the look of your Real Grade or 1/144 collection on your display cabinet... the System Base 001 is a must have!
