FANTASY FIGURES INTERNATIONAL Magazine

FANTASY FIGURES INTERNATIONAL Magazine photo

I have shared this at Facebook, Twitter and Instagram already.

But again, Google ignores facebook posts and Facebook posts won't appear or at least are not a priority in Google searches.

So naturally, I want Google to search this! Hi Google. :D

I am so delighted to announce my partnership / collaboration with this awesome magazine based in UK.

All, if not most of my Gunpla projects from modifications, painting ( with Vallejo Mecha Colors ) and dioramas will be featured at Fantasy Figures International Magazine. A few notable Gunpla events that I will attend, might also be featured at the magazine.

The magazine is a bi-monthly magazine and my first contribution / article will be on the April 2020 issue. Keeping what project will be featured at the magazine is kept as a secret for now.

This is an awesome opportunity to have my humble Gunpla builds published for the very first time ( Internationally at that ). Humble blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts are awesome! But nothing is more fulfilling than seeing your work published on an actual magazine.

I am truly proud as a Filipino Gunpla Modeler for this collaboration.

When this was made official after a few emails, the feeling was similar when I "luckily" won as BAKUC World Champion back in 2008

Much like my BAKUC win ( and my Paramount movie poster commission last year ), I am the First Filipino again, to be featured at this International magazine.

I cannot thank all of the people that continue to follow me at all my social media platforms, as you helped made all this possible. Seriously you do! I really cannot thank you ALL enough.

So, THANK YOU TO ALL. Just thank you!

Until next update fellow Mecha Designers and Vallejo Painters!

Saludos!

TETSUJIN 2020 Vallejo Mecha Color Painting Demo

TETSUJIN 2020 Vallejo painting Demo Photo

I was so stoked when this was finalized and was made official by my partners in HOBBYMATE and Acrylicos Vallejo , the no.1 hobby paint in the world!

I will be doing Basic Vallejo Painting Demos with Vallejo Mecha Colors and Vallejo Shifters for 3 days at Tetsujin 2020 at Singapore. Tetsujin is brought to us by the no.1 hobby shops and hobby stores in HOBBY ART GALLERY and HOBBYMATE

This competition is the biggest non-Bandai competition for modelers by modelers. Judges this year are Erix93 ( A legend of the hobby ), Kenny Lim aka Toymaker, Seth Tuna, Chocofalcon and Eday Ng ( verEday ).

Below is a video documentary of Tetsujin 2019.

I am sooo excited to meet my old time friends there ( Kenny Lim & Edmund Teo ) and meet the other Masters of the hobby ( Gunpla ). I will be bringing my 16 year old daughter with me, as she really wants to come and see the entries.

My daughter plans to join GBWC this year.

Anyways, this will happen soon! I will have a ton of coverage of the event!

Saludos!

HOW TO DO Armor Trimming verDC23 at Youtube

HOW TO DO Armor Trimming verDC23 at Youtube photo

I just uploaded another version of my Armor Trimming tutorial at my month old Youtube channel

This time the kit is my commissioned MG Gunner Zaku Warrior. A beautiful kit albeit the seam lines at the leg and arm parts.

I kinda found it difficult to shoot ( video ) while doing Gunpla modifications. You are trying to favor towards the camera while cutting with a sharp stencil blade. Also favoring to the camera while drilling holes ( I slipped once ). I think I won't do much videos like this, except if I show a new technique ( at least for me ) or an old technique that I haven't shown in my channel ( like panel line scribing ).

Anyways, I hope new modelers will find the modifications easy to follow and the video clear enough, or at least more clear than my older RG Sazabi Armor Trimming video.

Also, I just hit the 9K milestone at Instagram! A ton of thanks to all the follows!

I truly appreciate it so much!

More Gunpla and Mecha Designs at all my Social Media accounts ( Twitter, IG, Facebook, Youtube and here )!

Saludos!

WHY I Love Vallejo Colors and Where I Get Them

Vallejo Colors Photo

Quick Neutral Grounds Video Tour

I've been using Vallejos ( mostly Vallejo Premium, Vallejo Game Colors and Vallejo Game Airs ) for years now. I started using them on my LOTR action figures ( Vallejo Model Color back in 2001 ). Frodo looks better dirty with washes and grime than the bare plastic after all.

I love Vallejos coz they are the best in hand painting. The paints adhere well to primed or varnished ( Vallejo varnish ) surfaces. And they self level. Vallejo Colors will never reactivate the previous layers ( like other paints do ), so building up of thin coats is super easy. Also the high pigment and finer ( microscopic ) pigments makes better coverage than others.

They are also great with airbrushing as they are non-toxic.

Also the paints are reasonably priced. The high pigment count and the shelf life ( I have Vallejos that are more than 10 years old ) makes the paints worth it! These paints ( like other well established paints ) are investments in themselves.

Lastly, Vallejos are now very accessible to everyone. you may now purchase Vallejo Model Color, Vallejo Model Air, Vallejo Game Color, Vallejo Game Air and Vallejo Mecha Colors ( The whole shebang ) at all Neutral Grounds everywhere!

I get my stock at Neutral Grounds Centris.

So happy that Neutral Grounds started importing these awesome paints!

Anyways, thanks as always for dropping by! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby!

Notable blog articles to guide you with Vallejo Colors.

Saludos!

I am trying to fill my channel with my old works. Unfortunately some have been sold or are commissioned works to begin with. So they are no longer with me atm. Much like commissioned traditional ink illustrations, I am only left with these photos.

Here is the link to the original gallery of this build - MG Zeta ver 2 diorama verDC23

Gunpla Workstations at Blue Brick Art Gallery

Gunpla Workstations at Blue Brick Photo

We've converted the whole ground floor of the house into an Art Gallery this year. We call the art gallery / studio,  Blue Brick. We have held art classes for kids since October and we plan to have bigger art classes this coming summer. Teaching traditional art to kids ( 5 to 13 year olds ) has been so fun so far.

I just converted some corners for work and Gunpla the past few weeks tho. My main Gunpla workstation / corner is the one with trophies. My kids also use that area for school projects and assignments.

My iMac is where I do my illustration work and my editing for the new Youtube channel. It is actually the bar area of the house and is beside the kitchen ( lol ).

I am currently setting up my paint station in front of the studio. I will be painting outdoors. People are still installing clear polycarbonate roofing as of this moment. Can't wait until I can fully set up my painting outdoors very soon.

I paint with non toxic Vallejo acrylic paints, but still decided to paint outdoors as I do not want paint mist indoors. Besides, I have the space, so I might as well make use of the spaces.

I will do a nice video tour of my art studio once the polycarbonate roofing is done. Lighting outdoors is also great for video and photo shoots. Excited to show you a ton of Gunpla work soon.

Thanks as always for dropping by!

Cheers!

Acrylicos Vallejo Mecha Colors

AcrylicosVallejophoto

I just got this Acrylicos Vallejo Mecha Color set, some Color Shift set and catalogues from the mail last week. Always so exciting to get mail, much more packages of Vallejo paints mail.

I will be putting up a proper "unboxing" of all these sets on my new Youtube channel soon.

I will also use these for all my future projects. I need a ton of kits to test these cool stuff soon. I actually just bought a RG Sazabi yesterday.

I could paint a clean Saz with the color shift paints, or paint and weather that little monster with the Mecha Colors.

The Mecha Colors were designed to withstand the wear and tear of handling Gunpla. I mean, Vallejo claims it is the most durable acrylic hobby paint to date. We shall test and see.

I will create videos of my tests and painting exploits on my Youtube channel as well.

Exciting Gunpla stuff ahead. Stay tuned guys! Do subscribe and follow my YT channel, eventho it is empty as of this writing.

Thanks a ton as always for dropping by!

Cheers!

Photo Booth for Models, Miniatures and Toys

title="Photo Booth for Models, Miniatures and Toys"alt="Photo Booth for Models, Miniatures and Toysphoto"
Photo Booth for Models, Miniatures and Toysphoto

Other than painting clean models, my other weakness is photography! I used to take photos outdoors under the shade of the afternoon sun. Pretty good results as it is mostly sunny here ( Philippines ). I never had any fancy camera though ( as obvious with my gallery photos ) and I have always used my phone cameras for photography ( iphone4s, iphone5 and now iphone6 plus ).

I still use my iphone6 plus for all my photography needs, I did get a couple of photo booth domes to try to level up the quality of my photos a couple of weeks ago. Waiting to shoot under the sun is not the most convenient method of taking photos of models and miniatures, my photo booths are my only solution.

I have the bigger dome roughly the size of a kid's play tent ( 3.5 feet wide ). I use the big dome for Gunpla photography like the 1/48 " Dead Turtle " diorama below. I feel I lack enough lights to effectively use my big dome though... so I also got the small 1 foot dome which I love the most! I rarely do Gunpla these days so I get to use my small dome a lot. I have enough lights to light up the small dome and I am experimenting on different light set-ups as of the moment.

As I've said before, I never liked photography in general when I was growing up... Unlike drawing or painting, I felt you need more equipment to get better OR at least get to be known as a good photographer if you have more equipment ( or lenses )... It was and it is a rich man's craft. Never realized I would enjoy photography with a couple of domes and my phone camera.

Thanks as always for dropping by! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby! :)
