BAKUC OLD MEN Group Build

Bakuc Old Men GB Photo

I sure hope Gunpla modellers has not forgotten about us ( me! ).

Old friends from way back the Bakuc 2008 competition at Hong Kong had a chat at Facebook recently, and we decided to set up a sort of Group Build for OLD times sake.

We'll call the Group Build... OLD MEN GB! We've decided to use any Perfect Grade for the GB. The kit is not yet final though but the participants are. The participants of the GB are Matt Tomczek of the US, Raymond Loke ( Rayloke ) of Malaysia, Omar Zampetti ( Aor_or_die ) of Italy and yours truly ( of the Philippines ).

This GB should be fun! It should help us ( most specially me ) to bring back the passion in building plastic kits! I am currently setting up my new workstation at the new house and will buy supplies very soon. Hope that the workstation will be up by mid April, so that I could work on some pending commission projects.

Anyways, hope you visit this blog for updates on this GB and other projects! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby! :)

1/24 Daihatsu Copen modeled by Rayloke

Daihatsu Copen model kit photo

I have here something fresh. This is basically Aoshima 1/24 Daihatsu Copen modeled by Raymond Loke aka Rayloke. Rayloke is a very good modeler from Malaysia who never stops in learning new things to enjoy the hobby of scale modeling.

He has just started a new blog and it seems that he is pretty serious at updating his site with his recent works. His work on this Aoshima kit is stunning and the metallics are just too nice to behold. Extra props goes to the detailing work on the interiors of the kit. The finished model simply looks like a real car!

A ton more photos of this beautiful stunning build at Rayloke's new blog site! Here is the link guys...

Thanks for dropping by! Til' next featured guest modeler! :)

Tamiya 1/6 Honda Magna 50 modeled by Rayloke

I saw this finished kit yesterday at ZeroGunz and was totally blown away with the finishing! The modeler of this Honda bike is Raymond Loke aka Rayloke. Rayloke is one of the site admins of ZeroGunz and he represented Malaysia at BAKUC 2008 finals at Hong Kong. I featured his MG Unicorn last time as I like the subtle effective mods that he did.

His recent build is his entry for the ZeroGunz Metallics versus Weathering GB and it is totally insane. This is the most wicked chrome finishing I have ever seen in my short modeling life! It is safe to say I could never achieve this any time soon. A humble modeler that never gives himself enough credit. I highly recommend you visit the forums for more photos of this wicked build.

I did not take more photos as I did not ask for Ray's permission though, so feel free to visit the link as ZeroGunz is pretty much open to all, No crappy security stuffs to keep you away from really good professional builds. Here is the link to Rayloke's recent masterpiece...

BAKUC finals 2008 Flashback!

My previous post of Gundam Expo 2010 HK that I got from GG made me itchy to post this 2 year old photos of my experience at the same event back in 2008. It is really fun and nostalgic to see these old photos as I never posted them here in my blog before. I only started blogging last year ( November 2009 ) thus these are new old photos in my blog.

Obviously Bandai Model Kit World Cup ( BMKWC ) was called Bandai Action Kit Universal Cup ( BAKUC ) back in 2008. Much to my surprise back then, BAKUC was not the main event... It is the final event though, but it is only part of their annual Gundam Expo.

Now let us see a few of my old photos of the Gundam Expo 2008...
