1/60 G System ZAKU for the 2012 Mecha Contest!

2012 Mecha Contest prize photo

We are having serious problems for our 2012 MECHA contest. Serious but good problems actually. A few moons back, we revealed the insane prizes of our 2012 Mecha Contest. We have a truck load of prizes from our creators and sponsors and we continue to get prize donations from our generous MAC forum members.

Good friend and long time MAC forums VIP member Matt Mrozek aka mvm3897 is donating / giving away a 1/60 G-System Zaku for our competition. As if all the prizes from our original sponsors were not enough... the prize donation is totally insane.

Needless to say... our humble one year old MAC forums is obviously setting up a not so humble online competition. This is by far the biggest and craziest competition hosted in a forums to date. And we are not yet done... more prizes and surprises in the next few moons.

So stay tuned guys! Register in our MAC forums today and gear up to join our insane 2012 Mecha Contest. Do not get left behind guys... ;)

Need I say more? :) Thanks for dropping by guys! Hope to see your entries at MAC soon! :)

HobbyMate co-sponsors 2012 Mecha Contest!

2012 Mecha Contest HM sponsor poster

I will be posting capsules of posts in the following weeks about our Kamm and Sneeper's 2012 Mecha Contest. We figured that posting all the details of the competition in one post during the launch will be information overload. The amount of prizes and the rules and categories will be insane. So let me introduce our first co-sponsor...

HobbyMate owner Edmund Teo is the most generous person I have ever met in this lifetime. For those people who attended our MAC anniversary party back in August 2011, you personally experienced that generosity in the amount of raffle prizes HobbyMate gave away in the party! The MAC party was arguably the biggest Mecha / Gunpla party of any forums or club to date, mainly due to the support of two sponsors including HobbyMate.

This time HobbyMate co-sponsors our huge 2012 Mecha Contest. HobbyMate plans to give an airbrush to a winner and also plans to give other loads of tools and supplies for the contest. HobbyMate will also give a special HobbyMate's special pick winner!

To keep the surprises coming, I will not disclose to you the details of the prizes from HobbyMate. But HobbyMate basically will sponsor $600 worth of HM tools and supplies!

So do not get left behind guys! Drop that project for that small local contest and register at MAC forums today! Join in the fun in our huge competition soon! Thanks for dropping by! Til' next post guys! :)

I got more Citadel paints!

Citadelpaintsphoto

I bought a handful ( literally ) of Citadel paints yesterday after buying a handful last week. Kamm continuos to poison us in our forums with his sick hand painting skills using Citadel paints. I would never try hand painting a whole kit like Kamm though, but would try to hand paint details more using this beautiful paints.

I basically bought this for the MG Zeta commish details as my client wants some bling bling details all over. I also got some flesh color, black and a brown for the figures in my Turn A head diorama. These little jars got me excited to paint the Zeta already, although I still have to prime and paint the thing.

On a side note, I added and edited my HTML codes yesterday and I happily got rid off of the Facebook widget that takes so long to load. The new widget in my sidebar now houses my RSS subscription ( first time ), my twitter account and my Facebook fan page. All in a simple box including a better search box. Faster loading time for my blog and easier access to my other accounts. Woot!

Updates on both the MG Zeta and Turn A head today. Thanks for dropping by! Til' next post! :)

MAC Forums is shutting down!

Forget MAC Facebook, forget MAC Forums! Its a ton more fun to chat at Skype! We will now be shutting down both the forums and the facebook extension as we spend more time chatting this days. Heck I will also shut down this blog soon...

Nahhhh... not really, just had to think of a nice title for the post coz MatX beat me to it ( hate you man ).
I haven't been blogging lately as there is so much MAN-LOVE at Skype these past few days. First time for me to do video chats and it's really kinda fun to have those faces behind the avatars and the Gunpla names.

Kamm ( UK ), PhantomPain ( Europe? ), Gary ( London ), DCMKii ( Sweden ), Kriz ( US ), rzero1 ( Phil ), MatX ( Mars ) are my regular Skype lovers. I am actually building more coz of the chat. I usually sleep after work and just do modeling on weekeends, but the Skype thing makes me build or paint kits while Skyping.

Nyways, Love you guys! and here is the link to MatX's blog post of our man - loving at Skype...

TOYMAKER versus DC23 YouTube face off by Kamm

versus

I could not thank Kenny Lim aka Toymaker enough for this opportunity to have this face off with him. As most of you know, Toymaker has been my constant inspiration in my builds since I started this hobby  back in 2008 and he remains to be my measuring stick on how much I need to improve and what to improve with my modification skills and my builds in general.

Honestly, I was only thinking of myself when I asked Kenny if he would like to have a face off with me. I mean I think I need a boost, an inspiration and a sort of motivation to at least try to do another big project for year end. I think I need this so much as BMKWC cannot offer the same enthusiasm anymore, as they won't allow me to compete in the Open Professional category.

NOT competing in the Pro Open category means  0 chance of competing ever again in the World Championships. Thus I have a lot less motivation to pull off something big and special come November. However, with Toymaker's acceptance of my offer, I am and will be more inspired to at least try to come up with a descent rival to his masterpiece to be.

I am trying really hard not to sound overly enthusiastic here coz Kenny is a very humble master of his craft, thus he does not think highly of his skills or simply just do not want his greatness rubbed to his face as much. Simply put, this is definitely a young master versus an old student face off.

Hope you enjoy the video features of my good friend Jonathan Kaminski aka Kamm. I will sort out the playing field and the basic rules of this face off with Toymaker and will share it to you very very soon. Thanks again to Kenny Lim aka Toymaker and thank you for dropping by!

Til' next update guys! :)

my works featured in YouTube by kamniks

I just got home from the office and while browsing around youtube for some inspiration, I was surprised to see my works as some stranger stole my photos and made a video slideshow of my Gunplas! I was a bit in awe at first but then I realize that kamniks is Kamm.... just joking Kamm! hihihi

The whole paragraph is a joke, my good friend Jonathan Kaminski aka Kamm in Gunpla forums and kamniks in youtube, asked me to answer a handful of questions for his first feature in youtube a few days ago. Kamm plans to feature modelers monthly and I am the first one to be featured.

I really like the soundtrack and I must say that my kits looks a ton better in video than in photos. I love the feature so much, just a bit curious on how my " The Graveyard " dio would look in video if it was included too. I was almost in tears to see my kits in youtube for the first time, I actually watched it 3 times!

Thanks a ton Kamm! I deeply appreciate the feature man! ; )
