MG Z'Gok verDC23 WIP 063014

Not much to say with my progress last weekend. Not much work done on any of my commissioned works as I am starting to feel anxious to work on my own personal project. It's July already and I still cannot find the kit I need for my GBWC entry.

I did a few work on the left arm using the same claws that came with the kit. Now it looks like a Cactus blender of sorts. I also managed to do some armor trimming on some parts of this master grade. Now I just need to do some pla plating and details to see if my mods work so far.

MG Z'Gok verDC23 WIP 062314

Not much update as I only worked on this kit a couple of hours today before flying to work. I always wanted to give any kit a bigger right hand as it will give me options with the final color scheme. I looked at my stash and was surprised to see an unused 1/48 Char's Zaku hand that kinda fits well with the bulky forearms of the Z'Gok.

I also discarded the claws on the left hand and replaced it with a Kotobukiya rifle that looks like one big claw. I might try to incorporate the other white claws to the rifle soon and see if it looks okay. Concept is pretty much done, I do not want to kit-bash more parts just for the sake of kit bashing more parts. Off to add details to this monster when the mood strikes this weekend.

Z'gok WIP

I am pretty happy with my slow progress on this project so far and my vignette of the Z'Gok looks decent. I am still undecided with how much or how to modify this beast. The wooden frame and the base is looking better though. I will have to repaint the base and re-weather the MG Zaku F2 soon. Hope to update my client with more progress soon.

MG Z'Gok diorama verDC23 WIP 051614

This project is an old commissioned work that I could now finally work on. I just got the Bandai MG Z'Gok a weekend ago and started work on the base / diorama. I almost almost start with the base or diorama as I like seeing the initial stages of the build with the base.

Will partially work on this diorama as I work on my other old commission works in the following weekends.

I offered my client my old MG Zaku F2 build as a sacrifice for his MG Z'Gok diorama. My client agreed to give me an unbuilt Bandai MG Char's Zaku in return. My old MG Zaku F2 deserves to die anyways as the paint job is not good anyways.

I used and constructed a wooden frame ( with the help of my Dad ) for this diorama as I think wooden frames gives a more professional look to any diorama builds. Gone are the days when I used to just slap dioramas of plain plastic sheets and stuff.

I used an acrylic sheet for the platform of the wooden base, then added a styrofoam for the hill / island. I then slapped my old MG Zaku F2 and painted Vallejo texture paints to hold the dead Zaku in place. Now I am painting over some Vallejo water effects as I feel a MG Z'Gok will feel out of place without any water in it's diorama.

Got meself the MG Z'Gok at long last!

I know one guy will be very happy with this simple post.

There is a crazy guy here in the Philippines who commissioned Gunpla modelers all over the world to work on his favorite MS, the Z'Gok. This guy commissioned me back in March 2013, and believe it or not... I have been looking for this kit since then!

I will now be able to start with this kit  soon and will definitely finish it ( or try to finish it ) within the year ( 2014 ). Just wanted to show that I will be working on an original Bandai master grade kit as I want him to get a premium work using an original premium Gunpla kit.

I was suppose to battle damaged a MG Z'Gok from the client ( commissioned from another modeler ) and place it under the foot of my own Z'Gok. Change of plans though, still waiting for the client on which kit will I battle damage for the base of the kit.

Do stay tuned for updates guys! Will definitely snapfit this today once I get home ( still at work )!

Custom Z'gok verDC23 up next!

So let's get started! Research time for my first commission work after retirement. This is my "coming out of Gunpla retirement project"! A Z'gok!

A local ( Philippines ) client asked me to commish a custom Z'gok for him that would look very version DC23. The catch is to get crazy on a MG kit without much limitations.

I am not a kitbash modeler... So the kit would not look like a combination ala transformer sort of look. My style would be over detailing of surfaces and this should have a weathered finish once done.

My google research did not yield much results... So I guess I am off to the drawing board. Will have to get the kit soon to get the feel of what to do with it.

The Photos below are pretty handsome looking references of a custom Z'gok...i should be able to create something original with this old master grade kit soon. Stay tuned guys! :)
