MG Sinanju Stein modelled by Gianshopao

MG Sinanju Stein modelled by Gianshopao photo

Absolutely stunning work by an old friend and fellow Filipino modeller Gianshopao!

I have featured the works of Gian a couple of times already. He is one of the most talented modellers in our country and his painting skills is just so flawless. Only a few could match such smooth clean finishing!

This masterpiece was his entry at last year's ( 2013 ) Bandai competition ( whatever it is called now ). Ended up with a consolation prize outside of the top 3. Nevertheless this is a beautiful piece worth raving about! The color combination is so beautiful and the modifications are clean and crisp! Gian calls this The " Obelisk ".

A ravishing build I would love to see in person one of these days. Great job Gian!

DC23 Mecharts Gallery Updated

verDC23photo

It has been so long since I had the time and the mood to update my gallery. Just added the links  of a couple of finished or completed builds last year ( 2013 ).

The Ironman 12 inch statue I did for a friend which was basically a repaint of a statue last year was a fun build. I added the damages and paint chips and enhanced the overall finish of the statue / toy. A super fun quick build that ended up nicely.

I also added a link of my only painted kit last year, which was a beautiful Ma.K kit given to me by my old friend Kenny Lim aka TOYMAKER back in 2009. The kit has a bit of fitting issues but I did had so much fun hand painting the floral stuff on the kit. This kit is one of my fav display in my office desk these days.

Anyways, do check them out in the links below...

Custom Gundam Base by Aor_or_die

CustomGundamBasePhoto

I was googling about some diorama ideas when I saw this photo. This base looks a little like my custom bases albeit better. I then found out I was credited from the post of my good old fellow Gunpla modeler in Aor_or_die! Makes me want to craft a diorama all of a sudden.

Cool stuff that will definitely look super nice once painted! I love the angle of the base and the protruding tubes that added so much depth to the piece. The details on the base itself is so well crafted and looks very complicated even in it's primed state. Looking forward to the painted and weathered photos of this build soon.

Do check out more photos at the blogsite of my old friend Aor_or_die. Below is the link...

Ebasenet Gundam Head Display Groupbuild Gallery

I am trying to catch up with what are the ins and outs of the Gunpla Community for the past few hours and I just saw that the Ebasenet Gundam Head Display Groupbuild Gallery has now been set up! It is such an honor to be in the Ebasenet website! Thank You Masters!

I know this is old news already, but I have been away for a while and have been inactive in forums and the community for such a looooooong time already. Obviously I was inactive already before this gallery has been set up by the Gunpla masters of Ebasenet

Construction of my house should be done by the end of the month ( February ) and I am slowly getting excited in setting up a corner for this wonderful hobby! Will check my old tools if they are still in working condition and will get supplies for my first build very soon! Can't wait to get back!

Below is the link of my own gallery at Ebasenet... Do check it out if you have the time. :b

Katipunan Diorama Commission Work

  KatipunanDioramaPhoto

Hi Guys! I am killing time at work as I just finished my reports, so I thought I'd share my latest ( sort of ) work.

I did this sometime October last year ( 2013 ). This is basically a diorama depicting the life events of one of our National Heroes ( Andres Bonifacio - Philippines ). This was shot ( with cameras and lightes ) for a series of promotional plugs for the special TV series of Andres Bonifacio in one of the channels here.

It is rough... but that was the idea. The client gave me a couple of weekends to work on this project and I must say that I barely pulled it off! I finished painting some of the parts of the diorama in the same morning when it was shot. Some details was done during the actual video shoot by a good friend and fellow local scale modeler in Arthur Gavino.

I decided to use just papers and cardboard stuffs to speed up the construction and I painted the whole shebang using all Vallejo Acrylic Paints. Those paints ( though a tad expensive ) are a blessing from above. The coverage of Vallejo paints is just so remarkable.

I had to resort to actually sculpting custom 2 inch sized figures for the diorama. I used copper wires for the frames and GREEN STUFF for the flesh ( and clothes ). Nothing special, but considering I only had a day to create 23 figures, I think I did okay. Pretty fun but really tedious work.

Hope you like this post although it's nothing special. The project ( commission work ) was extraordinary as it is rare that clients would shoot miniatures for commercials rather than computer animation. Pretty rad experience and pretty good pay too!

Thanks for dropping by! Until next post guys! Just enjoy the hobby!

Hope to be back soon! :)

Hmmm, blogging felt so easy way back.

My previous blog post was back in May of 2013, it felt like a decade ago though. I plan to get back to the hobby once I have set up a nice work station in my house. No plans of getting back to 210 lbs though. My house is currently under construction, which gives me hope that I will finally be able to set up a work station for this hobby I used to love so much.

Basically I lost my house a couple of years back, my camera broke then eventually my trusty old laptop broke down too. All these events led to being lazy with the hobby.

I sincerely apologize to all my pending commission projects ( international and local ). I promise to make it up to you some way or another. I plan to finish all those commish if everyone is still interested or I could give back your down payments. No excuses whatsoever, just had a rough patch these past few years.

I am back on top of the hill now! Not really, but I think I can go back to the hobby sooner than later.

I should be meeting with an old Gunpla friend in Kenny Lim ( of Singapore ) aka TOYMAKER this month. Just seeing the dude should fire me up! That dude sure will inspire and motivate me again to pick up my art knife. Kenny is that handsome.

I will try to update my gallery with kits and toy repaints I finished last year. This blog should be fun or at least busy again this year. I just need to re-learn how to tweak with htmls and stuff. Hope to show stuffs soon.

Til' next post guys! Just Enjoy the Hobby! :)
