Although I think any wing type on a 1/35 resin kit of the Gundam Wing Zero Custom is going to be kickass, We are actually having a very difficult time of deciding on how we will approach the sculpting of the Wings of our 1/35 project. Here are a few images that we are currently looking at...
The sculptor is actually working on the head sculpt already and we figured to set up a poll for the meantime and get feedbacks from you guys ( possible buyers ) on what wing type will be most marketable for our project.
I do think hardcore fanboys will hate us for altering the wing design. However I doubt modelers which are into the quality of the design and the aesthetics of the output, will bash as for trying to come up with a unique yet faithful design of the Wings of the Gundam WZC.
We could play it safe and base the design on the Master Grade Wings OR redesign it and create some mechanical looking wings, OR give the kit an Angel feather wings instead. Please help us decide by answering in this poll as we really need help on what wing type to build. Thank you in advance guys!

I think you should it something more akin to a Jetpack built onto a small wing-like frame.
Like big turbines on little struts.
I go for mechanical wings, already voted.
A wild idea here, can't it turn like Kamen Rider Double wherein one half uses feathers and the other uses mechanical ones?
The Archangel Wings acually look nice.
I think it's better with MG WZC design, just need to add more gimmick...
Most of the time when I've seen someone set out to "improve" the WZC wings the result has been garbage. Take the MG for instance. "Let's make the wing split here and here" - yeah, now the wing looks like a disjointed, fractured piece of garbage... Or "Let's add way more feathers, make them longer and curvier" - the wing winds up overloaded. The merit of the original design is that it's clean and relatively simple. Fruity yet restrained.
All this and nobody ever seems to think about doing things like the thruster detail (seen in the anime) on the WZC wings.
But to me the biggest shortcoming of the original look is that those huge wings are mounted on flimsy little struts. So I think this "Archangel" direction could be a good thing - make the wings a more coherent, continuous unit (kind of like the DSHC wings).
Ultimately - why ask? Make something that looks cool, and people will enjoy it. If you don't think the original wings look cool, don't make the original wings... It's really that simple.
Thanks for the input. We will research on those thruster detail for reference. Why ask? We want it marketable, as much as this is very exciting and fun for us, sales will dictate the success of the project. So we are asking the possible consumers that would love to buy the resin kit. It's that simple.
I like it personally in any type... it would look really cool as the centerpiece of my collection. :)

I think an original design (something like wings of fire) would be a better option. Angelic wings are already there, and metallic wongs are what we see on Mobile Suits that try and be angelic without the silly feathers. Gather with a bunch of people who know their mythology of different cultures, get drunk, and record everything you guys chat about. Get inspired by things that were spewed out by people with the inability to avoid using imagination.
HAHAHA! will do then, all of my officemates are artists and I will consult them once drunk. hahaha

Got to go Mechnical, I am for one am not a big fan of Wing Zero Custom because of how organic the wings look already. I would love to see it become more like the Gundam it should be.
Same here actually, Although the Gundam Wing in 1/35 is going to be cool with any wing type spread across anybody's room! lol
Hope you have a sketch for the realistic feather and mechanical wings that will be designed specific for the project...

I believe what he is trying to say is something similiar to the Strike Freedom, at the center of the wings is a engine that resembles a jetpack, which is an interesting idea, but it has been done obviously. That's my first take. My other take is he's suggesting something akin to Jetfire from Transformers (the live action movie), where you see the turbine engines on the actual wings themselves.

i'm thinking it would look awesome with the mechanic wings with the top part of the wing can open up like the MG version to give it fuller look
