MAC's concept MECHA GB is heating up!

Our concept MECHA Group Build is heating up guys! A handful have finished their builds already and as a modeler finishes his entry, I immediately post it in my concept MECHA GB gallery. The other 15+ modelers are still working on their entries though and are filling up the workshop section in our forums!

I am blown away everyday with the amount of creative and unique builds we are seeing in the workshop section right now. A handful of really nice walkers, a few wheelers, some small robot critters and even a furture marine! I highly suggest you join our GB or at least visit the nice WIP threads in the forums. concept MECHA GB: British WWII Drone by eeun

This is the newest finished mecha for our concept MECHA GB and this cool military looking drone is modeled by Ian Raymond aka eeun. The military color scheme is very nice and the overall look of the mecha is impressive.

I love in particular all those hanging thin wires across the legs and the materials used in this build. The main body of this build is an old aluminum stereo knob and there are not much styrene to styrene gluing. I am still waiting for some close up photos from eeun before I could add this to the gallery.

concept MECHA GB: Enforcer by rzero1

This is Raymond Celeste's 2nd build for our concept MECHA GB. Raymond Celeste aka rzero1 continues to treat us with some very unique builds in our forums. This will be the 3rd installment in the concept MECHA GB Gallery here in my blog.

I like the Enforcer very much because of the mono wheel and the left arm is extra interesting. The weathering and finishing is always a delight to look at and the little details like the star badge and the wire stuff completes the overall look. FYI, the body of this build is a upside down Yakult bottle!

waiting patiently for the other bots...

Me and Raymond Celeste aka rzero1 has finished one of our BOTs. I will be doing a series of this mini robots made from scraps same as rzero1. I call my mini robots, bitBOTs while rzero calls his junkBOTs.
There are already 28 participants in this group build and both our BOTs are waiting for each completed kit!

concept MECHA GB: bitBOT 001 by DC23

This is the second finished entry for our concept MECHA GB and this is my most photoshoped pics of any finished kit that I have. One of the requirement of the GB is too have a black background and even though I shot the kit against black paper, I just cannot achieve a black background.

I think I have to shoot indoors to achieve a black background as I shot outdoors thus making the black paper look gray. I then added a vignette to try to blend our concept MECHA GB logo. Anyways, this was a really fun build and I should make more bitBOTs for the GB after my Zeta commission works.

MAC concept MECHA GB is heating up!

FORGET Gundams! Our MAC concept MECHA Group Build is really starting to heat up! There are at least 10 work in progress threads in the WIP section for this GB, to think that the GB was only announced a few days ago! I guess we all secretly needed a break from Gundams OR creating your own robot from scrap parts is just so fun!

bitBOTs 001: WIP - initial assembly

This is my first in my bitBOTs series and my entry for our MAC concept MECHA GB. Just a quick assembly of some parts I found around my work area. My daughters had fun watching me while I was assembling this little guy.

My bitBOTs will just be a series of small mono eye robots made from bits and pieces of stuff. Nothing fancy and complicated with this series. The objective is simple, try to make them as cute and durable as I can. I want my bitBOTs very playable, so I will try to make the joints very strong.

I will use Epoxy for gluing the parts and will let it cure for a day before priming. Now here are some photos of this very quick build...

Small friendly looking ROBOTs roaming around junk yards and sewers... these BitBOTs are here to rule our planet and rid of all living things. Drama and crappy logo aside, the BitBOTs will be my entry for our MAC concept MECHA Group Build.

We are SICK of Gundams Group Build!

Not really! Anyways after seeing a couple of Raymond Celeste aka rzero1's Junk Bots, One of our MAC forums admin Kriz thought of another Group Build for the forums. The  GAF - MAC Beargguy GB is still a go and we are still accepting participants, However this new Concept Mecha GB will have June as the deadline so this will finish a lot earlier.

This GB is anti-Gundam! I mean your unique kit bash, scrap build, scratch build creations should be your own design. Needless to say, ALL finished kits will be featured here in my blog and will have its own gallery in the my FEATURES and my GALLERY pages. Minimum requirements is as follows...

• Clean or weathered finishing
• Work in Progress thread in our MAC forums is a must
• Materials can be anything from plastic, metals, rubber, parts from toys, other mecha series
• Finished kit could be steam punk or streamlined as long as it does NOT look like Gundam
• Concept MECH GB logo supplied in the forums should be used in all finished kit photos
• Let your imagination loose!

Simple rules ey??? No fancy crap!... Just have fun and create your own scrap built mecha! Do NOT get left behind guys! Here is the link to the discussion thread in our MAC forums...
