I just finished painting the custom base of my first ever Trollbloods figure, Madrak Ironhide ( variant ).
I hand painted the base with Vallejo Model Colors as usual and applied Windsor and Newton oil washes. The base looks a bit shiny but should look better once applied with its final dull / matte coat. I am happy with the look of my static grass and the contrast of the colors ( due to the washes ) but I feel I need to add a few more highlights to the rock base. Painting selected pebbles on the brownish ground part should also improve the look of the base.
This is why I love taking photos and sharing work in progress photos as you will see what you can improve on as you see the photos. Will do some touch ups to the base, seal it in gloss coat before moving on to painting my first ever metal miniature! Wish me luck guys!
Anyways here are some photos of my progress so far...

Great custom base. Did you have to modify the feet to get that pose?
Thanks sir... no modifications on the feet, I placed small rocks to fit the position of the feet. :)
Base looks great man, it really compliments the pose of the model. Great work!
Lucky rock bro... Thanks! :)
