Seriously, I thought being a 1/144 kit that this commission build is going to be a walk in the park. I mean how long would it take me to assemble, clean up, paint and re assemble this little kit? Plus the client only asked for an ootb build in ootb colors... pretty easy ey?
Not really. The sanding of the nub marks was no easy talk as you can easily over sand those little pieces. The assembly is not easy too! It has a gazillion parts and all of them are small. Now imagine painting all those little plastic critters one by one, making sure that the color is consistent from one another.
To put it into simpler perspective. The number of parts of this Real Grade kit is insane! The last time I almost run out of " satay " sticks for painting was when I painted my Armored Core White Glint commission and my Perfect Grade Zeta Gundam commission. Needless to say those kits are big.
This REAL GRADE line from Bandai is not for the really young modelers. I mean you should have a bit of experience with master grades so not to frustrate yourself with this little dang kit. But animosity towards those little parts aside, This kit was such an experience to build. The level of engineering put into developing this beautiful kit is humanly impossible.
The Master Grade Aile Strike was put to shame with the release of the Real Grade Aile Strike period. I wonder what Bandai could come up in the next 5 years. Anyways, this post is basically a collection of photos from assembly to painting of my first Real Grade kit.
Thanks for dropping by! Til' next post guys! :)

Then Panzer runs there and the parts scattered all over on the floor lol...
hehehe... he is not allowed inside the house. :D
Hows the hand of RG strike? was turned off by the flimsy fingers RG RX 78. do strike come with the peg type hand like in HGUC kit?
It came with both. A close fist and a MG like hand. :)
18th pic looks like it's floating in space, with lots of scattered junk... XD
BTW, which paint did you use for the AMS Frame?
It's no mean feat indeed. My RX-loving friend was so excited when I gave her an RG RX-78 (we call it Argee) but freaked out in assembling the damn thing. MG-quality builds in a 144 kit? Damn.
The photo shows the frame in Vallejo grey primer. :)
Great technology! I actually wonder what Bandai comes out with in the next 5 years. hehehe
I know right...then a few months ago, her jackass ex-husband stole the damn thing - at hindi pa kumpleto yung armor assemblies! That was my Christmas gift to her actually, thanks to GTO.
Liked the preassembled endoframe parts too BTw. mabusisi talaga ang engineering when I watched the HLJ videos of it. My sister-in-law's husband would probably enjoy this - he asked me several months ago about it...pero diosmio naman wag naman puro mga galing sa seed and 00 yung mga susunod na RGs!
Did you primed all the parts before painting or just the inner frame?
Yes I primed them all as you can see in the 4rth photo rom the last, all of them are grey.
I would LOVE a RG Guncannon!!! :)
