Cool Plastic Organizers for my Vallejos

Cool Plastic Organizers for my Vallejos Photo

I figured I haven't posted some of my painting stuff here at my blog recently. I have been posting these at my Instagram and Twitter accounts ( @don_suratos ) tho. I also regularly post at my Facebook page ( @DonSuratosArtist ). But I figured these stuff deserve some bloggin'!

I got meself some nifty lipstick organizers a while back. I used them to organize my Vallejos. As you can see, I have a ton of paints... organizing them into usage and colors is KEY. Key to a happier and less frustrating painting alone time. Finding that color in a disorganized table would irritate me like hell.

I love how the clear plastic lipstick holders look on my painting table! I will be expanding this table soon. A new package of NEW Vallejo paints might come my way.

I will be sharing tutorials and tips at Facebook on Vallejo stuff hopefully very soon! Will also share them here as usual. Stay tuned guys! Thanks as always for dropping by! Until next post! CIAO!

DC23MechArts Weekend Photo Dump 060215

DC23MechArts Weekend Photo Dump 060215photo

The past week was so eventful for me! I got my box full of Vallejo paints, a couple of models from Privateer Press, my wife's birthday, a handful of WarmaHordes models to add to my army, painted a lot of commissioned models and got some tools from my younger brother who went to Japan for research work. Cool week!

Lazy to write today as I need to go home early to paint some more models! So I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy them ( lol )! Some people love taking selfies ( photos of themselves ), I love taking some workbenchies ( photos of my work bench )... so pardon the loads of photos of my workbench every week.

Anyways, thanks for wasting your time here. Until next post, just enjoy the hobby! :)

Heroclix DOTA 2 TideHunter verDC23

Heroclix DOTA 2 TideHunter verDC23

It took me a while to finish this commissioned work of a Heroclix DOTA 2 TideHunter figure as I had to wait for my "Kolinsky" brushes for hand painting I bought online. One of the secrets in hand painting with  acrylic paints ( Vallejos ) are the brushes! Crappy cheap synthetic brushes will deteriorate fast as the acrylic paints will eat up those plastic bristles during hand painting. " Kolinsky " or at least Red Sable brushes are a must!

Anyways, this little toy was made a little bit more interesting by removing the Heroclix base and re-painting it. This is fully hand painted with Vallejo Model Color paints, Vallejo Water Effects and sealed with Vallejo ( Resin ) Gloss Varnish. I tried my best to add details thru painting but the sculpt of the toy is just not as detailed as real plastic, resin or white metal miniatures.

It took me a couple of days ( maybe even 3 days ) to achieve the look of the custom base as I had to apply around 4 or 5 heavy coats of Vallejo Water Effects paints and let cure for at least 12 hours. Anyways this was a fun little project fully hand painted with my Vallejos. Thanks as always for dropping by! Until next completed build guys! Just enjoy the hobby! :)
