Candy boxes for my The O II foot parts

MG The O II WIP photo

Yeap I am still working on my The O II face off project with Toymaker, eventhough I cannot enter this at Gunpla Builders World Cup OOTB category here in the Philippines. So I decided I will enter this behemoth at Gunpla Builders World Cup Singapore instead! I hope I meet the Singapore deadline which is November 15, which is barely a month away.

Due to my limited scratch building skills and the fast approaching deadline, I had to resort to using available materials that I could use for this build. Scratch building all those foot parts boxes would be very time consuming and is a total pain in the arse. Thus I came up with using plastic candy boxes for the foot parts of my the O II.

Much like the boob and backpack part which are made of deodorant ( excuse me ) plastic bottles, I think with a bit of detailing or modifications these candy boxes would fit what I intend it to be very soon. Just wanted to share these photos before I go to my dang day job today. Should buy some super glue, 2 part epoxies and some 5mm plastic rods to install those pieces together.

I basically cut off the two parts with my HobbyMate rotary tool and a circular saw attachment ( available soon at my shop ). The work of cutting that thick plastic would be so painful to the hands if I were to use manual saws. Anyways here are a few photos of my The O II build so far...
