WIP - prettiest miniature face I have painted so far

I needed to check if I am achieving the contrast I want with the miniatures I am working on, so I took photos of my work in progress to check.

I am pretty happy with the painting of the face of my Kommander Strakhov so far and I think it is my best painted human miniature face to date. It still needs a bit of red tones on the lips ( I'll use orange though ) and some darker recess areas maybe under the eyebrows and inside the lips. But I think he looks okay specially in person.

I also finished basing my Warmachine Khador Juggernaut, Destroyer and Shocktroopers and should be painting the metal parts soon. I drybrushed red orange on my Khador units already but my crappy point and shoot camera cannot capture it.

I am also happy with the skin tone of my Dire Troll Mauler in person. but again my camera seems to diffuse the contrast I have achieved. I think I need to add more contrast on the muscle tones after seeing these WIP photos. I am happy with the teeth of my Mauler though and should be adding some white streaks to increase the contrast. I just need to paint the rocks on the body and the nails to finish up my first ever Warbeast.

I am desperately in need for a better camera as these minis are so hard to capture with my old point and shoot.

Progress is a bit slow as I played with my 20 point Trollbloods army with these Khadoran army earlier today. I played a couple of games with my 8 year old daughter and had fun with a simplified rule game. NO focus and fury points and NO special abilities whatsoever...just MAT / RAT versus DEF, ARM, AOE. I lose twice as our simplified game is mostly based on DI luck! :)

Khador Juggernaut by DuEnDe

I have yet to paint my Khador Juggernaut I bought second hand a week ago. I have based both my Khador Juggernaut and Destroyer but have yet to prime them but this beautiful Juggernaut by DUENDE got me excited to work on my first Warjacks when I get home later today.

Very nice color scheme based on the Beast 09 and the weathering gives it a nice realistic battle damaged look. I love in particular the frozen Axe sort of effect and the patterns on the shoulder armors.  I should be finishing my Man-O-War Shocktroopers soon then will move on to working with my Khador Warjacks.Very inspiring work from DUENDE. Warmachine KHADOR Warjacks photo list

I did a couple of Warjacks photo list a while back and thought I'd continue doing so and present you with the 3rd Warjacks photo list here in my site. The first list was the CYGNAR Warjacks and the second was the MERCENARIES Warjacks. They all look great but I think I will be collecting these Khador Warjacks alongside my Trollbloods army the whole year.

Warmachine MERCENARIES Warjacks photo list

As I build up my Trollbloods army and if my budget permits get to slowly build up a Cygnar or Protectorate of Menoth army, I think there will be a time I would want to paint something " yellow ". I always liked painting and weathering yellow robots! The Caterpillar yellow color just looks so awesome on these mechanical beasts.

I would not want to paint my whole ( future ) Cygnar army yellow, much more paint a Protectorate of Menoth yellow! So I just saw the perfect candidates for custom color schemes, heavy weathering and absurd paint jobs... I introduce to you the Warjacks of the Mercenaries!

The Mercenaries as their names suggest are in fact your usual mercenaries. They are homeless and are just paid hunch men. Anyone who could afford these killer people could have them on their side. Ruthless things that only speaks the money language. So I personally think being " color " less or badge less or country less... makes them the perfect candidates for personal custom color schemes!

Painting these guys yellow or even in rainbow colors does not matter I think... so unlike starting an army of the other Warmachine factions, these Mercenaries Warjacks could be your usual random buy.

Warmachine CYGNAR Warjacks photo list

I am currently working and building up a Hordes Trollbloods army but can't help but share with you the cool Warjacks of the Warmachine Cygnar army.

This website used to be all about plastic robots ( Gundam ) and I thought sharing with you the Cygnar steampunk Warjacks would match the name of my site better. I plan to occasionally get a few Warjacks eventually... specially once I have finished collecting and painting a basic 35 point Trollbloods army.

I have yet to decide which Warmachine faction to collect first... or maybe just get random Warjacks from any faction as I plan to field Trollbloods only anyways. Not really sure... but I do love these Cygnar Warjacks very much! Maybe it's the blue color again or the designs are just too cool to resist. Obviously I am trying to poison more people into this Warmachine stuff ( not Warhammer ) as I just find steampunk stuff so cool ever since.
