I just finished my first ever Warmachine Warjack. It took me a while as I wanted to give my Khador army a custom color scheme. My primary army is the Hordes Trollbloods that I paint in its original colors, so I thought of giving my Khador army a custom scheme as I am not so attached with the Khador fluff as much as the Trollbloods fluff.
I was leaning on giving it a nice military green color scheme with red shoulder armors. However I saw a few people have done that already. The default everything red color scheme is nice... but I thought Khador being a popular faction will have numerous players with red Khadoran army.
I do not want to steer away from the original Khador color scheme so much, so I thought of giving my army a uniform Winterguard color scheme. Light grey blue with some red armor highlights would blend well with any Winterguard unit and should look good in the battlefield.
I am pretty happy with the outcome of my first ever Warjack. Although I feel I had some bad choice of weathering colors with this one. I am also unhappy with the bronze colored parts as they look so flat eventhough I gave them some washes and gold highlights. I should exaggerate the gold highlights next time as they are not too visible in the photos.
No plans of doing NMM painting on these plastic Warjacks ( maybe with metal ones ) as it would slow down my painting even more. I will stick on this color scheme for a while and see if it looks good on my Man-O-War Shocktroopers unit.
I also customized the gun of my Destroyer as I find the stock gun a bit too short ( see photo below )... Anyways here are some photos of my first ever Khador Warjack...
