WIP - Runebearer & Dire Troll Blitzer primed

I managed to squeeze in a couple of hours before going to work today ( I am at work now ) and finished priming my Trollkin Runebearer and my Dire Troll Blitzer.

I added green stuff all over the base of the Runebearer and scribed some runes on the green stuff rocks. Still debating ( with myself ) if I would want to give the runes a light effect similar to the rune stones held by the figure. Light effect or not, hopefully the base would look good once painted.

I also finished filling the gaps ( with green stuff ) of the Dire Troll Blitzer and I also sculpted a simple flowing back skirt for the beast. I thought the flowing back skirt gives the overall model a more " charging " look. The back skirt sort of compliments the " bandanas " ( flowing headband ) of the Pygmy riding on his back.

Both models are ready for painting... but should be finishing my Fennblades before working on these models. Very Excited to paint the base of the Trollkin Runebearer though. Now here are a few photos of my progress so far...

WIP - Dire Troll Blitzer assembled and based

I finished the assembly of this model immediately after I opened the box yesterday!

This is a marvelous huge metal mini from Privateer Press. The details is out of this world as always and the heft ( weight ) of the model just makes it even more special.

I altered the pose of the Pyg with the blitzer gun at the back a little bit. Instead of gluing the gun on the right part, I sort of glued it in a way so that it should extrude more in front of the Dire Troll. My pose is pointing down and the Pyg Troll is almost flying in the air. I think my simpe reposing through gluing gives a more dynamic overall look to my model.

I did not give this huge model a custom base as I find that it has enough details and features to stand on it's own. Unlike the Dire Troll Mauler which is bare and naked... this Dire Troll Blitzer model has so many things going on making this model extra fun to paint.

Trollbloods Dire Troll Blitzer unboxing

Now this is only my 14th Trollbloods model and my first ever Trollbloods WARBEAST !

I cannot put into words how excited I am to assemble this behemoth of a metal mini. Being my first ever Warbeast, I was totally in awe with the heft and the size of the parts. It is practically twice the height of your average Trollkin figure and it comes with a big 50mm plastic base. The model has 14 separate parts to assemble and is easilly my most complicated metal mini todate.

Unlike my jannisa Stonetide and my Trollkin Runebearer in which I have an idea for their custom bases already, I am still thinking of a cool base for this huge kit, should research a bit after this post. This kit makes me want to get more Warbeasts and should get a Dire Troll Mauler next. I need to get other units to complete an army though as my Warcaster ( Madrak Ironhide ) is Infantry oriented and not beast oriented.
