MG Gunner Zaku Warrior REVIEW version DC23

My apologies as I do not have many photos of this review, as I was focused on recording the video for my new Youtube channel.

I love the design of this kit. Even the old 1/100 HG is beautiful. But this one is an awesome MG. I love the overall look and design of this Zaku. Tall and not as bulky as usual. L

Let's do this in bullets!

PROS

• The joints are great! Specially the joints or arms that hold the big gun to the backpack. The joints that hold the shield are also very nice and solid! Sturdy design! Gone are the flimsy designs of the older MGs ( at least for this kit. 
• Color separation of the parts are perfect ( as expected from a MG ). The construction of each part were not complicated and are all very straight forward.
• The articulation is one of the best ( specially for a Zaku ). The arms and legs fold all the way. The hand wrist joints are very good also. Waist could be more flexible, but it is sturdy enough to hold the huge backpack and gun.  
• Most parts can be easily disassembled for painting after snap fit ( just cut the male pegs ). 
• A beautiful kit, best displayed in flight ( due to the big gun ). 
• The typical Zaku cabling is easier to clean as it did not came in separate pipes. 
• Armor details are good. But there is so much room for more. 

CONS

• Nubs are located along the bevels of the pieces ( armor parts ). Tricky to sand for beginners. 
• Seam lines along the guns and backpack ( expected ).
• Seam lines along the upper arm, upper legs and lower leg parts. 
• There is a small red part ( I missed mentioning this on my video ) in the big gun that cannot be removed again ( after seam line removal ). Masking or hand painting will be required. 

CONCLUSION

I love the kit so much. There is a sudden pang of sadness while looking at the kit, as this is not mine. This is a commissioned work. So will be giving to the client once finish.

Acrylicos Vallejo Mecha Color Set Unboxing at Youtube

I just uploaded the unboxing of the Acrylicos Vallejo Mecha Color Set at my Youtube channel.

OVERVIEW

The Vallejo Mecha Colors set was designed and formulated for Mecha, Transformer and other kits that have articulation. The Mecha Color paints are said to withstand the usual posing, handling and sometimes playing of Gunpla and other kits with movable parts. These paints were tested on plastic, cipper and white metal and can actually adhere to the surface without primer.

I think I will use these paints for action figures soon. I like painting toys once in a while.

You get 80 paints in the box and a brochure. The brochure has simple instructions on how to use these acrylic paints.

You get set of paints within the box.

There are Weathering effects paints, tons of shades of greys, blues and reds. A set of 11 Metallic paints, some fluorescent paints and auxiliary paints like thinner, the awesome flow improver, 3 varnishes and even the chipping medium and decal softener.

STRONG ADHERENCE BUT NON-TOXIC

Much like the rest of Acrylicos Vallejo paints, these Mecha Color line are safe and non-toxic. They are safe for airbrushing and won't produce harmful fumes. Imagine the adherence of other toxic paints without the potential hazard.

Awesome... almost magical stuff.

It took Vallejo years to develop these paints. A ton of testing by actual modelers happened, before the market release of these paints.

Again... awesome stuff.

I will be using these Mecha Color paints on my RG Sazabi soon. I will upload the complete painting process on my channel.

Rust and Chipping Book Review at Youtube

I just uploaded my first Youtube video with my voice over. This 9 minute video is a simple review of the Rust and chipping book by Acrylicos Vallejo. 

I actually shot a welcome video of myself, but I edited it out ( lol ). I am still not comfortable showing myself on video. I will eventually ( I think ). Also, I had to dub some parts of the video, as the roosters were sooo friggin noisy during the actual recording of the video yesterday. 

I am pretty confident I could do a better video next time. I should also be more comfortable recording my voice ( and myself ) soon. 

This video came out fine. Pretty happy but should get better. 

Anyways, I hope you'll find my review informative ( or bearable at least ).

SD Zaku and Charagguy Momo snapfit

I just finished snapfitting these two little Gunpla kits. Actually I applied thin cement on the seam line parts already while assembling. I will wait for the thin cement to fully cure until tomorrow, before sanding it off.

SD Zaku II

The SD Zaku is super nice. It has skeleton of sorts. It was a fun quick build. There are seamlines on the forearms, legs and skirts. I applied thin cement and letting it cure already.

However there are NO seam lines on the gun and bazooka. That was a surprise!

The black chest part, albeit seems hard to pull out is easy to remove. Very good for disassembly once I paint it. Hollow parts are not as obvious as previous SD models. The back of the hands and the missile pods are the only hollow areas of the kit. They are not visible at the front ( which is good, if you don't want to fill the hollow cavities ).

I might add a few rivets or holes here and there before painting. I will paint this SD Zaku with Vallejo Mecha Colors and will weather it like I normally do.

Can't wait for the thin cement to cure, so that I could clean up the nub marks and mold lines.

Charagguy Momo

This cute little pink kit is so... hmmm... cute!

There are no hollow cavities to fill except the ribbon at the back. Bandai also added a wide panel line across the head, so that you do not need to remove a hideous seam line. The hair piece at the back, the legs and the body have seam lines to fix tho. I have applied thin cement on them during assembly already.

Be careful with the pink ear parts and the pink chest part. Do not put them on if you plan to paint them separately. They are a pain to snapfit. Good luck to me if I can still remove the pink part of the ears.

I did not assemble the Beargguy / Petitgguy head, the Beargguy hand and the chair. I have no plans of painting them. I added the "eye" stickers just to see how cute it is. But I will hand paint the eyes during painting.

I plan to paint the onesie body with Silver Pink Vallejo Color Shift Color. This kit will be bling bling once finish. Will paint the hair parts, face, ribbon and eyes with Vallejo Mecha Colors.

That's it! 

That's it! As I've said, I will let the thin cement cure for a day, before sanding the seam lines off. Will also clean the nub marks and add a few rivets / holes on both kits.

Privateer Press Warmachine and Hordes Unboxing and Reviews

I will be unboxing and reviewing some Privateer Press stuffs from now on. I love these minis so much I do them during weekdays after long hours at work. Some models are made of white metal ( pewter I think ) and the newer ( usually units ) models are plastic resin. Clean up of the mold lines are expected from both the metal and plastic variants and the older plastic models needs more clean up than the newer ones. Clean up is quick if you are used to any model making hobby, although it requires careful attention to not damage the details.

It is all about the painting for me as of now. However for my first PP unboxing post, I will be showing you a lot of Khador models I bought assembled from a player. I bought a second hand lot a while back as I plan to play Khador as of the moment. I have a complete 50pt army including the models in this post. I will be posting a few models from other Warmachine and Hordes factions from time to time as I will be getting models exclusively for painting and not army building.

I took photos of the painted models from privateerpress.com as reference. All my unboxing posts will include the models assembled and primed to show off the beautiful sculpts before painting. I just find unboxing posts without the assembled miniature models incomplete. Anyways, below are a few of the Khador lot primed and ready for painting

Sen-Ti-Nel Yotsuba and ! Ma.K. Danboard Unboxing

I just want to share my new Sen-Ti-Nel  figure I got from GreatToysOnline.com. I am not a manga or anime person ( more of a Lord of The Rings guy ) but I like this figure so much! I am also going to get some Figma figures as I am really digging the Anime design and the quality of the figures.

This is a Ma.K. version of Danboard of Yotsuba and !. The box also has Duralumin, the cute little teddy bear figure. The box contains 3 awesome figures, a transparent stand, 4 thrusters, a set of hands and a Bazooka of sorts. The coolest part of the Danboard figure is that the head opens to show a very detailed cockpit! I can't put into words how much I love this figure, I am off to GreatToysOnline.com to order a few figures after this post!
