1st 1/35 Gundam resin kit made in the Philippines!?!
G-System resin kits is basically the authority when it comes to 1/35 and 1/72 Gundam resin kits. They also have 1/100 conversion kits that uses the MG internals from Bandai. Our friends from the US Matt Tomczek does a lot of these kits, same as with Matt Mrozek.
Unfortunately these kits are a bit on the pricey side and it is safe to say that most Filipino modelers could not afford them. However, we are planning to do a 1/35 Gundam resin kit by next year. It will not be mass produced but will only be available for a very limited run only.
My fellow Filipino partner ( Alex A. ) is highly confident that his sculptors could pull off a nice 1/35 Gundam resin kit much like how they pull off topnotch statues of comic and movie characters. I and MatX will be overseeing the progress and the design of the Gundam resin kit Filipino version, once we start to work with it by next year ( 2011 ).
I have reason to believe this will be the first 1/35 Gundam resin kit made in the Philippines if we ever pull it off. Actually I am thinking of a 1/24 scale but we would discuss the feasibility of this huge project first and if we actually have a market for such a thing.
I will make sure to update you about this massive project and maybe post some WIP photos as we progress. We will be finalizing the plans in the 1st MAC Christmas party. For the mean time here are some WIP photos of my partner Alex as they work on a 1/2 scale Predator statue...
So... would you like to have a 1/35 Gundam resin kit made in the Philppines??? :)

Heck yes I'd want a 1/35 @_@
I started a topic on MAC about where the best places are to buy resin kits, no one has commented so far. Was wondering if you might have some input.
We can't afford 1/35 resin kit ourselves bro... but here is the link of the G System resin shop - http://dc23-mecharts.blogspot.com/2010/12/135-gundam-resin-kit-made-in.html
Well I can't afford one either. That kit costs more than my first car lol.
Hopefully we pull of our 1/35 Gundam resin project... it will be cheaper bro. wink wink! MAC members will get discounts! limited run only so it won't be available to late orders once it is released. LOL
any idea how much would that cost? AFAIK g-system price fore their 1/35 Ex-S Gundam is 3,000 bucks!..
I wish it would cost less than half of it..
We might not go as ambitious as to build an EX-S bro... maybe an RX or a Zaku... we still have to discuss this on the 19th. :)
looking forward on this one !! XDD
This will be the biggest in the Philippines if ever. XD
Would be cool if the first resin kit was a Gundam Wing or any from the gundam Wing series... Gundam Wing was the first gundam shown in local television in the philippines.
Great idea bro! Thanks! :D
seriously awesome Don, All the best on this endevour my friend.
Thanks brother! XD
That's awesome! I wish you guys luck!
Thanks bro! XD
Wow, this is a great idea bro!!!!
And the sculptor looks very talented!!!!!
I do have the 1/35 EX-S 2.0 on order and should have it by the end of the year.
1/35 seems very doable but a 1/24 full Gundam and nut a bust would be absolutely huge. For instance the 1/35 EX-S is roughly 4 feet tall, the same kit in 1/24 scale would be almost 6 feet tall LOL. My 1/35 RX-78 that mtomczek did for me is just over 2 feet tall which means it's a 70 foot tall MS at 1/24 it would be about 3 feet tall so thats a huge jump from 1/35 to 1/24.
Wow! this is inspiring! LOL! Thanks Don for this. I think we'll settle with 1/35 so that we'll end up with something 2-3 feet tall. My sculptors are used to that size and is quite manageable when it comes to detailing. This is really nice, something to look forward to next year. =D
Don't worry guys, it won't be 3000 bucks, it'll be lower, waaaaaay lower. ;) Will go for a model not made into a resin kit yet but not too complicated in design initially.
Not my idea though.hehehe...yeap, wanna see those scuplts in real life one day. :)
I know bro, and you ask Matt Tomczek to commission one for you right? :)
I see... 1/24 bust would be really cool then. :D
LOL! it's not waaaay lower...just lower. hehehe ... see you on the 19th bro. XD
No. I commissioned him to do my 1/35 GP04 and I gave him my 1st 1/35 EX-S as payment. LOL
Wah, got it all wrong. hehehe XD
If the model is good and cheap then i would definitely place an order.
Thanks bro! We will try our best to produce a great 1/35 kit. :)
when will it be out? any targat dates?
seriously awesome Don, All the best on this endevour my friend.
