What project is more impressive???

photos from Gundam Guy

I am still overly undecided for what to get for Christmas and eventually what to do for my Bandai Model Kit World Cup 2011 entry. I need your help guys as I have trimmed my options to 2 kits ( no budget for a PG yet ), I will be either getting the MG The O or wait for the 1/48 Mega Scale Zaku until around late December.

I might eventually get both, I mean get the MG The O this December and then get the 1/48 Mega Scale Zaku on January. BUT still the question remains... What kit would be best for my BMKWC 2011 entry??? I mean what would you like me to mod? a 1/48 Zaku and convert it to a Super Custom Zaku F2000?

OR modify a MG The O to look like the The O II / Hauer in the sketch above. Both projects will be ultra mega challenging for me of course. But I would like to know your ( my readers' ) opinion on what is the best for my year end entry?

and No... I cannot possibly do both as I am packed with GBs and commission works until around June 2011 and I have very limited skills in scratch building... Hope you help me decide guys...

 1/48 Super Custom Zaku F2000

or a MG The O II

Thanks for dropping by! Til' next post! :)

  1. Sorry DC... has to be the MG The-O II..... without a doubt. There is literally no compeition here.

The-O II is one of my all time favourite mobile suits... and with your ability and talent you could make it into a peice of art. FULL STOP! xx

  3. there are resin kits of The-O II, it has been done many many times - while this Zaku is only in 1/144 scale. Id's say go for the more uniqe one, more chalenging kit bro

  6. Thanks for the vote Kamm! I cannot pull it off exactly how the sketch look though... my limited skills in scratch building would only allow me to try. It will be a ver DC23 The O II if ever I decide to work on it.

Same with the Zaku... it won't look as clean and bare as the 1/144 version. hehe :)

  13. zaku. the only reason being that i think the O would be to similar to your sazabi and white glint in detailing and plating... thats just my opinion though...

  14. well i prefer the 0 II! its big and really its a massive challenge for you.

  15. Honestly that was the original drawback bro... I also think it will look my Sazabi a bit. :)

  18. 02! there is no model kit of that in existence so it gets priority imo

  19. I vote for the Zaku... peronally, never been a fan of the O.... plus the custom ZAKU is awesome... it would be more awesome to see it in 1/48

  20. MG The-O for me... Crotch area of your previous build made me think you can pull this off... And it'd be interesting how you'll made 02 Version DC ^_^

  21. I'm a Zaku fan, and I've never really liked the O much... umm those gimmicks it has with the beam sabers just don't umm sit well with me... :p But I gotta admit that the people who've stated that there has never been an O II kit makes it a more intriguing entry for a contest than the Super Zaku (HG 1/144)... so, advice is... if you wanna impress the judges (and audiences), go with an original O II ver DC. :)

  23. hihihi, Hi Kenny...do you really plan to do a The O II??? As much as I like to wait for your version and copy your mods like I always do.... and like what I plan for my Sinanju...

Would you think it would be cooler to see your version and my version come year end??? hihi

  24. I think the Sazabi was a good warm up for this one... I do lack the skills to pull it off, but that is where the fun begins... challenging yourself is fun. hihi XD

  26. I want to change my vote. I'd like to see you do The-O/Hauer. Just think your skill set would do this particularly nice justice.

  29. Hmm. It seems we've had the same Idea about the Zaku Conversion. I'll be starting mine shortly after Christmas. Fancy a build Off? :)

  30. Cool! I'll start mine around June though... could be cool if we have a build off. XD

  31. I'll need to be finished by July, if I'm going to enter. We don't know here how many entries we will be allowed yet, so it will be whichever is best when the time comes.

I'm not sure about the O II. I've been a professional Model Maker on and off for more than twenty years, and the thought of building that thing would scare me. A MAJOR time investment.

  32. I see, same here... but I can't work on a big project until I finish my 2 commission works and a ton of GBs.

I plan to finish mine around November in time for BMKWC Philippines.

Agree with the O II, I think I need at least 6 months to do one, or try to do one for that matter. :)
